Philippines is known for celebrating various events and festivities every month in different parts of the country. Through good times and bad times, the fiesta must go on. Each city and barrio has at least one local festival of its own, usually on the feast of its patron saint, so that there is always a fiesta going on somewhere in the country. But the biggest and most elaborate festival of all is Christmas, a season celebrated with all the pomp and pageantry the fun-loving Filipino can manage.
Because fiesta is a part and parcel of Filipino culture, without free food, games competition, dance, drink, activities and cookfighting derby the word fiesta won't count. Each house has to have food to serve to either their friends or stange visitors.
I chance to blog this today because the barrio where i came from is celebrating fiesta tommorow. This is one of the most exciting event waited by everybody including me. Its just happened that we were unable to celebrate the fiesta with them this time. Since i am too far from home all i can do for now is to greet everybody a happy fiesta!
